I've been hearing it my whole life, and in most cases it has proven itself true. In this instance, though, I am not quite referring to the durability or quality of a product, as much as I am its origin. We have all heard the issue with job exportation and foreign outsourcing, but to many of us these issues have little to no impact in our daily lives. So why should we care about them? I'll tell you why. As more and more jobs are outsourced, less and less American made products are being produced. This is not good for our economy or for the Americans depending on these jobs. So, instead of hard working Americans who take pride in their work, making your products, it's probably some 13 year old kid getting paid 35 cents an hour, who couldn't care less if you got a quality product or not.
I hadn't noticed how big of an issue this was until recently, when I tried to find someone to make our custom beanie tags. It took hours upon hours of searching and emails trying to find a 100%, American made and produced, custom clothing tag. Some companies would even respond to my e-mails with a "Good luck finding any tags or labels that are made in the US." This is unacceptable. The fact is: most Americans concentrate on the price tag instead of where the product is made.
Try this: go through your closet and count how many articles of clothing that you own that say MADE IN THE USA on the tag. I bet you'll be able to count this number on 1 hand. Unless of course, your closet is full of Mindset Gear. We take pride in the fact that our stuff is made right here within our borders; we wouldn't have it any other way. Just like Ol' Glory, these colors won't run and We promise we'll keep it that way as long as we are around. So the next time you are in your favorite apparel shop, take a look at the tag and see where its made. Don't forget; "You get what you pay for."
